Ground Level Office vs. Office Trailers
In today's world, with rising costs, it's crucial to ensure the equipment you're using is tough enough to stand up to the demands of the jobsite. Not only do we sell office containers, but we also use them ourselves. We prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring nothing goes out that we wouldn't work in ourselves.
Getting mobile office space to your job site or business has never been easier. Our Ground Level mobile offices need very little site preparation. Sitting directly on the ground removes the costly need for blocking, stairs, or ramps.

What are Ground Level Offices?
A Ground Level Office (GLO) starts life as a shipping container, which rail and shipping lines use to transport goods. Later, Dry Box buys these containers and rents or sells them as storage or converts them into temporary workspaces. Workers can access the workspace at ground level without the need for ramps or stairs.
What are Office Trailers?
Mobile Office Trailers come assembled from a factory on a chassis with wheels, like a modular home. Workers access the elevated workspace either by using a ramp or by climbing stairs. In colder or wetter months this can increase the risk of injury from slipping or falling.
Container office advantages
- Durability – Office containers are made from shipping containers, which are made to withstand the harshest ocean conditions. On average a shipping container will last between 15 and 20 years providing a great short or long-term workspace. Modular office trailers are best for short-term use.
- Safety & Convenience – Portable office containers offer the perfect balance of safety and convenience. They provide fast and easy access without the need for stairs or ramps reducing the risk of tripping or falling. They are quick to setup and relocate, making them ideal for temporary workspaces on construction sites.
- Lower cost – On average most cost effective than building a traditional stick-built modular office. They also eliminate maintenance costs linked to office trailer chassis, axels, wheels, skirting, and more. Additionally, module office trailers must also have OSHA-compliant stairs, which can increase cost.
- Security – The sturdy steel walls, barred windows, and heavy-duty door work as effective deterrents.
